Welcome to Sojourn
The best way to get to know us is by visiting church, but we understand you may want to read a little bit about who we are first. So, we’d love to give you a snapshot of what happens here at Sojourn on Sundays.
Pairing modern worship sounds with the ancient practices of Communion and Responsive Liturgy, we invite you join with us in worshipping God for who he is and what he has done for us. Don’t worry, we didn’t know the songs the first time through either. Our hope is that we will be a people rooted in history while still appealing to current and future generations. We have written a brief explanation that covers the basics of our service that you can check out right here.
Our pastors teach and preach from the bible. Our aim is not to give you our best ideas and theories about life, but God’s authoritative word on how he designed life to be lived.
Our Kids’ Ministry has lots of fun, crafts, and learning about God, all in a safe and clean environment. We currently have classes for 4s+5s, 2s+3s, and a nursery for crawlers and those just starting to walk.
We talk about community a lot at Sojourn. That is because we believe God created us to be in relationship with other people, rather than in isolation from them. People come early and stay late to drink coffee and have conversations with each other at church. We also meet in smaller groups during the week all throughout the Beaumont area. You can find out more about our community groups here.
If you’d like to know more about our beliefs you can find that here.
We have met in several different locations since our inception as we continue to search for a permanent home. We currently meet on Sundays at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church in the West End of Beaumont.
